Three centuries before the discovery of America…

The founding year of Sigulda is considered to be 1207, when the Livonian Brothers of the Sword founded the Zegewold Castle, located on the left bank of the Gauja River, 53 km from Riga. The castle was built during the reign of Master of the Order Venno, who ruled from 1204-1209.

Dear friends, we invite you to an unforgettable excursion that will introduce you to the history and modernity of the Sigulda region — the most beautiful part of Latvia. You will be amazed by the stunning natural landscape of the region, uncover the secrets of the mysterious Gutmanis Cave, see the ruins of ancient castles, the beautiful estate of Prince Nikolai Dmitrievich Kropotkin, and hear the legend of the Turaida Rose, a legend of love and loyalty.

Modern Sigulda is a center for outdoor activities: an aerodium, one of the best bobsleigh tracks in Europe, the only cable car in Eastern Europe without supports, and much more.

And after that, we invite you to lunch at an equally interesting place, “Raganas ķēķis”.

The route is approximately 6 hours. Comfortable walking clothes are recommended.
